CD: $20.00

Imported from Ireland

Fiddlewings (GLCD6020), the second solo fiddle recording from Manus McGuire takes you soaring on the wings of his fiddle to Scotland, Shetland, Cape Breton and Ireland with these fifteen glorious tracks. It is a top-flight performance given by a master at work and Irish American News recently named Manus "Male Musician of the Year for 2006".

McGuire brings many years of experience to his music as founder of the seminal Irish bands Buttons & Bows, Moving Cloud, and most recently, the Brock McGuire Band. There is a deep understanding of the traditions and an obvious love and respect for the music he performs. Manus is joined on several tracks by his brother Seamus McGuire The Wishing Tree as well as a host of other players.

As with his award-winning classic CD, Saffron and Blue, he again distinguishes himself as one of the great musicians and composers of our time.

Fiddlewings is an elegant recording and teaching tool for fiddle players, musicians and teachers alike. The CD also includes introductory liner notes provided by Seamus Connolly, Sullivan Artist-in-Residence, Chair in Irish Music, Boston College.
